Nicole and Steven are such a sweet couple! I had a ton of fun getting to know them and also sharing a drink at the end of the session–always a relaxing way to end a fun shoot! When Nicole suggested that she wanted to do some engagement photos on a boat, I was giddy with anticipation! The shoot was all I had hoped for and I am LOVING the images!!! A couple favs:

It must be the season for babies! Here are a couple of my favorite images from a recent newborn shoot–no hats, no props, no baskets–just pure, simple and natural adorableness.

And reason number 6,254 why newborn babies are a handful… these 3 images were taken within 30 seconds!!! LOL! Love it!

I really enjoy photographing newborn babies. I enjoy it mostly because I get to hold them! Well…and because of all that newborn babies represent–life, freshness, warmth, love. I always get a little emotional when I hold newborn babies, not because I want another, but because a baby really is a beautiful part of life. And I feel lucky to get to photograph that…

Since Lindsey and Greg are fellow morning people, we met at a bayside location for some magical and cozy coastal morning light! I really enjoy the cool mornings that we’re having and I love the soft, romantic look that we can get by shooting early. Of course, this ended up being a particularly misty morning… But that just helped with the cozy feeling! I love getting to know couples during the engagement session and am very excited for Lindsey and Greg’s wedding–we found we have a lot in common! I hope you enjoy the images:

Another long overdue blog post! I’ll eventually get all caught up…

Catherine and Brad are completely adorable. Like COMPLETELY adorable. They have the kindest hearts and seem so perfect for each other. It was truly a joy for me to be with them on their wedding day! Plus, some of their family is from Wisconsin which probably helped the enjoyment factor for me! They put a lot of thought into their ceremony and I couldn’t help but cry a little during their vows. Their words touched my heart and made me think of my own marriage and husband.

Sometimes people ask me what it’s like to shoot weddings–and it’s hard for me to explain… But Catherine and Brad’s ceremony gave me that feeling in my heart–the feeling I get when I witness and photograph true love–that feeling is what it’s like for me to shoot weddings. That’s what makes me love my job.

karlie and josh – St. Helena Wedding Photography

I didn’t actually meet Karlie and Josh until the wedding weekend, but I was able to learn about their personalities through our connections on Twitter. And from what I knew about them, I was anticipating quite a fun wedding day! And that it was. It was full of festivities for all of the guests, many who traveled from Chicago. Excellent wines, tasty bites and lots of laughs and smiles–all required for the ideal celebration, in my opinion! There are SO MANY images I love from this wedding so I’ll keep it short and just get on with the show:

nicole and ryan – Harvest Inn Wedding Photographer

Nicole and Ryan have completely warm and inviting personalities. And their wedding reflected exactly that! They wanted their wedding to feel like a dinner party–like all the guests were being invited into their home for a specially cooked dinner together. They worked with the team at A Savvy Event to pull things off perfectly–it was just the right mix of elegant and opulent, while also being welcoming and cozy. Looking at the images and thinking back to the day, all I can say is WOW!

The Harvest Inn in St. Helena was the absolute perfect venue for this wedding:

Okay, before I show you the blushing bride…You know she looks FABULOUS when she gets THIS reaction!!!

This wedding could not have been quite as perfect without the brilliant floral design of Nancy Liu Chin Designs. Everything was so lush and beautiful with tons of texture!

I think every wedding should have Hog Island Oysters!

And how ADORABLE is this little guy and his wedding wagon?!

Everywhere I turned this wedding had more details!

And, really, what would be a wedding without a cake from Amber at Sweet on Cake!? Yumm….

And to prove that there was as much laughter as any of the best dinner parties…

And the laughter went on into the night…
