With a journalism degree from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul and a second-hand camera, Jen Kloss Heffner became a photographer for the Leader-Telegram newspaper in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Even with a beat-up camera, she captured award-winning photographs no one else saw.
In 2002, Jen took a deep breath, moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, and started Jennifer Kloss Photography. Jen focuses on weddings, but also does portrait work. Jen’s work is rooted in photojournalism, but takes many artistic liberties.
Jennifer Kloss Photography shoots with top-of-the line Canon equipment and her digital darkroom is filled with the latest technology. Jen also attends photography seminars across the county to ensure she stays current with digital photo technology. This ensures that your pictures will always be the best technology allows.
But once in a while Jennifer Kloss Photography will go back in time, surprising you with a specialty camera – maybe a Polaroid, maybe a Holga medium-format camera, or maybe even a pinhole camera. Technology is not always about staying current, but about incorporating the best of everything that works – the vintage and the new.
Jennifer Kloss Photography is affiliated with many national photography organizations. Jennifer is an active member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) and an award-winning member of the Artistic Guild of the WPJA.
These organizations offer membership by invitation only and include less than five percent of all wedding photographers.
